Pub news round up

Licensee Geordie has left the Brewery Tap in Waterbeach and the pub is currently closed. The owners, Stonegate, are seeking new tenants for the pub which is ideally located for access from the large new community currently being built at Waterbeach.

The Barley Mow in Histon reopened in early December.

The Rose in Stapleford will be reopening in the new year. The food in its restaurant will primarily be Thai, as the new tenants previously ran the Navigator in nearby Little Shelford, although they will also offer pizzas and Sunday roast lunches.

Just outside our patch, the Duncombe Arms, Waresley closed just before Christmas. The future of this free house is unclear.

The Kingston Arms, Kingston Street will start having pop-up kitchens twice a month. Sam’s Thai Kitchen will be there on the second Wednesday (except January when it will be the third Wednesday) and My Persian Kitchen on the last Wednesday of each month. They have skittles and crib fixtures each Tuesday and a pub quiz on the last Monday of the month.
