Season’s greetings everyone. Here’s news of some of what’s happening in and around our branch area over the next few weeks.
Our January monthly meeting will be at the Green Dragon on Water Street, Chesterton from 8pm on Tuesday 14 January. Our monthly meetings, on the second Tuesday of the month, are open to all branch members. Feel free to attend, hear what’s going on and have a chat over a beer or two. February’s meeting will be at the Mill on Mill Lane.
Good Beer Guide.
Branch members are continuing to mark of pubs on the shortlist for inclusion in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide. This year’s shortlist consists of 56 pubs. We would like you to choose which pubs should be our 26 entries in the 2021 Guide. Please look at the shortlist and assess all the pubs on it that you have visited in the last six months. You can do this online (revisable) or in person at monthly meetings, on February’s Strolling Social or at our AGM (18 February) when marking closes.
January Coach Tour.
On Saturday 11 January we have our next coach trip round some of our rural pubs. This time we will be visiting some of those that are on the shortlist for inclusion in the 2021 Good Beer Guide. The coach will leave Cambridge at 11 and will return around 7. Part of the cost of running it will be offset by having a raffle. For more details and to book your seat email Clive, our social secretary.
Local Beer Events.
These are just some of the other beer and ciders events taking place in and around our branch area over the next few weeks. Our own website and local blog Pints & Pubs have Events sections that list these and more.

Pub News & Beer Scoring.
We’re always keen to receive news about our pubs, breweries and cider makers. If you have some, please email us. Members’ beer scores also help to keep us informed and influence our Good Beer Guide entry selection. It’s easy to do. It can be done using the Good Beer Guide app or via WhatPub, either from your phone while you are in the pub or from home afterwards. Please also use WhatPub to give us feedback on the pubs you visit, especially if you discover inaccuracies in the pub’s entry.
