Pub news round up

Congratulations to Elvis and his team at the Geldart on Ainsworth Street. It’s our branch Pub of the Year. Congratulations also to Rachel and Pete at the Chestnut Tree, West Wratting, which is our Rural Pub of the Year. Finally, congratulations to Martin and his team at the Royal Standard on Mill Road, which is our Cider Pub of the Year. We will be holding our Gala Night later in June to celebrate these pubs and the recipients of our other awards.

Sadly Caragh and Jim have given up the tenancy of the Three Horseshoes in Comberton which has been in the last five editions of the Good Beer Guide. They were unable to strike a new deal with Stonegate who will now seek new tenants.

Greene King are looking for new tenants for the Hop Bind in Cottenham. The current licensees, Lance and Sharon, are leaving after five years in charge. Everards are looking for new tenants for the Architect on Castle Street.

The Blue Lion in Hardwick reopened recently, promising a traditional country pub and Italian restaurant.
