Pub of the Year 2024

At our March branch meeting we chose the winners of our three big awards. All three were tight decisions which is testament to the strength in depth of our local pubs.

This year’s Cider Pub of the Year is the Devonshire Arms on Devonshire Road which has greatly expanded its real cider offering in the last year including many locally produced ciders. The Dev will represent our branch in the Cambridgeshire round of CAMRA’s Cider Pub of the Year competition.

This year’s Rural Pub of the Year is the Three Horseshoes in Stapleford whose licensees have maintained the variety and high quality of ales it offers drinkers.

This year’s City Pub of the Year and our overall Pub of the Year is the Champion of the Thames on King Street. The Champ has long had a great reputation for the quality of its ales including Abbot Ale and Abbot Reserve which are second to none. The Champ will represent our branch in the Cambridgeshire round of CAMRA’s Pub of the Year competition.

Congratulations to the three winners of these branch awards. If you would like to take part in judging the county rounds of the Cider Pub of the Year (runs until 14 April) or Pub of the Year (runs until 19 May) competitions email Cambridgeshire Area Organiser Helge.
