Cambridge CAMRA was deeply saddened by the recent death of John Anderson
at the too-early age of 69.
A true Cambridge character, John was a Beer Festival stalwart for many years and
was instrumental in establishing the now legendary Food Stall with its
choice selection of real cheeses, bread, pies and other quality products.
John also worked at other Festivals in the region and at the
Great British Beer Festival. Although he hadn't been active in the
Branch for some years, he could often be found in his favourite pubs,
notably the Pickerel and the Champion of the Thames, where he was always
erudite and entertaining company. His wake at the Pickerel was suitably
replete with great beer and food – he'd have loved it.
