Pear Tree, Hildersham – The annual auction of donated items raised £750 for the Air Ambulance. Dining theme nights continue with a French night in January followed by Italian, pudding and Indian evenings. Radio Cambridgeshire visited to cook a partridge for their Breakfast Show (Partridge in a Pear Tree – geddit?)

Waggon & Horses, Linton – Currently has Hook Norton Old Hookey as a guest. Wine slection has increased and now includes champagne. Sunday meat raffle proving popular.

Black Horse, Swaffham Bulbeck – The Winter Ale Festival at the end of January will feature several rich, dark ales.

Fox, Burwell – Thwaites Original remains the best seller but Wherry is catching up – and at least three guest beers from micro-breweries are also to be had.

Plough & Fleece, Horningsea – Recently featured a performance of Twelth Night by local actors. The pub closed for food and drink sales for the duration but spectators were invited to bring their own.

Boot, Dullingham – Now open all day Sunday. Adnams Gunhill featured in December.

Red Lion, Brinkley – Friday is Fish & Chip night – eat in or take away in purpose made, heat-retaining containers

Carpenters Arms, Great Wilbraham – Brandon Grumpy Bastard has replaced the same brewery's Rusty Bucket – it's a 4.5% beer with subtle fruit tones and hints of biscuit.

Legion, Bottisham – Currently featuring Mauldon Moletrap alongside Adnams Bitter and Greene King IPA and Morlands Original.

Hole in the Wall, Little Wilbraham – Have recently added to their comprehensive range of Buntingford beers with Jenkins Ear (3.7%) and Purgatory (4.2%).

Red Lion, Swaffham Prior – Proudly displays the Rosie Award for dog-friendliness and other pets are also welcome “especially hamsters and goats” it says here!

Five Bells, Burwell – Temporary management has reinstated Greene King XX Mild. The barn at the back needs a new roof and prevarication by Greene King has apparently deterred at least one set of prospective tenants.

Anchor, Burwell – Gaye and Simon Stephens-Young, also of the Red Bull Newnham, have restored the Folk Night on the third Thursday of the month. The guest pump is dedicated to micros with Tring Ridgeway in December and something from Buntingford in January.
