White Swan, Stow-cum-Quy
Increased demand for real ale has seen the fourth handpull back in use. In the pub's tradition of supporting charitable causes, fundraising this year will be for Motor Neurone Disease, to which one of the regulars succumbed. Mick's Kitchen, a folk band with a difference, promise to be a highlight of this activity.

Six Bells, Fulbourn
Following the trend of “meet the brewer” nights, the Bells is staging an Adnams Week, featuring Adnams beers and breweriana, including a section in the pub quiz and a daily passport stamp.

Bell, Bottisham
Carl found a nice welcoming log fire blazing away to keep off the autumn chill. Since Ian and Donna took over in March the place has been transformed and the locals have responded in droves to having a proper publican after a succession of managers. The bargain food offer of two courses for under a tenner is especially attractive in the secluded little rear dining room.

The Legion, Bottisham
A short walk from the Bell, here's the latest establishment to embrace the real ale revival. A beer festival in September prompted firm endorsement of a permanent guest beer tap – Green Jack Canary on a recent visit. The club is up Beechwood Avenue and first right.

Bull, Burrough Green
The new tenants expected mid-October didn't materialise so Mark stays in charge until next year.

Three Tuns, Abington
A variation on grow-your-own – the pub regularly produces 30 jars of honey form bee-hives in its garden. Woodforde's Nelson's Revenge, St Austell Tribute and Greene King IPA when visited.

Red Lion, Brinkley
Emma and Antony Eagle celebrate their first anniversary here in December. They've taken the unusual step of buying out their beer tie from Greene King, so GK IPA is now accompanied by two guest ales – Knight's Porter from Three Castles was an unusual recent visitor.

Kings Head, Dullingham
A splendid large picture of a king's head now dominates the entrance – but nobody seems sure which king it portrays!

Crown, Linton
Excellent beer festival in October. A fourth handpump has appeared and will largely feature Oakham ales – you lucky Lintonites
