Drinking Circuit Clampdown

Many town and city centres in England, including Cambridge, are being targeted by an 8-week Government clampdown on excessive drinking and related problems.

Underage drinking, irresponsible drinks promotions (high volume/low price), binge drinking, and anti-social behaviour are being tackled via operations combining the Police and Trading Standards.

There were 18 arrests by Cambridgeshire Police in the first fortnight. Nationally 239 licenced premises were found to be breaking the law.
