CAMRA Prices Survey 2001
CAMRA's annual prices survey this time covered 1000 pubs across the UK.
- The average cost of a pint is now £1.86, an increase of 2.2%
- A pint of lager now averages £2.06, up 2.5%
- The North West is still the cheapest, at £1.65
- London is still the most expensive at £2.06
So lager is still a big rip-off: it's no more expensive to produce, it's
easier to keep and being dead it lasts much longer, so there is no
reason for it being more expensive then real ale - except for the massive
advertising campaigns which support it!
Prices in pence, with % inclease from last year.
Inflation rate around 2.5%
