The Second Histon Beer Festival
This was held at the beginning of July behind the Red Lion and was a terrific success. Twenty-four real ales plus ciders and a
perry were lined up in the marquee with six more beers on in the pub. By the end of the week not many of the original 24 were left
despite licensee Mark Donarchy scrabbling around for emergency supplies. Rave reviews were received for
Roosters Bitter, Orkney Red McGregor
and City of Cambridge Hobson's Choice.
Music was provided by a Brass Band, Irish Minstrels and the Morris Men and the BarBQ was non-stop.
Festival glasses and polo shirts commemorated the event, which raised over £4,000 for charity.
