1st Abbey Spring Beer Festival

Friday 27th - Sunday 29th April 2007

Winter is over, Spring is here and to mark the occasion the first ever Abbey Spring Beer Festival will take place.

Over the last weekend in April, the South Stand of Cambridge United's Abbey Stadium will be transformed into a celebration of fresh real ales, including many from the East Anglia region.

Altogether around 20 fine ales will be brought in for sampling at the festival, including representatives from the local Fenland and Milton breweries. Even these regional ales are only available in a few Cambridge area pubs, so this is an ideal opportunity to sample local produce at its best.

In addition to the real ales a selection of other beverages including the provision of low-cost soft drinks for drivers will be available, plus a range of hot food.

Plenty of free parking is available in the main stand car park towards the rear of the football club, accessed via Cut Throat Lane (please don't park in the front car park). Visitors can also use the Citi 3 bus service (Whitehill Estate / Fison Road direction) from the city centre and rail station, which stops outside the stadium.

Opening hours will be from 6pm to 10.30pm on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th April with the final session taking place on Sunday 29th between 12 noon and 9pm. Entry is £2 but CAMRA members get in free, the venue is non-smoking and children accompanied by an adult are welcome.

The festival is being organised by the football club and supporters' trust, not by Cambridge CAMRA, but we are very grateful to Cambridge CAMRA for their help.
